Brownie points for the police

September 1, 2006

“POLICE officers could be given points for everyone they nick under a controversial new scheme. They would get 10 if they make an arrest or hand out a fixed penalty for public disorder – and 20 for seizing a vehicle.”

I can reveal other details of this admirable scheme:
Arresting a burglar 1 point
Being caught driving at 159mph 2 points
Arresting someone for making a V-sign 3 points
Arresting someone racially insulting a burglar 5 points

Knocking someone’s house down looking for non existent weapons lose 1 point
Fatally shooting the wrong guy lose 2 points
Making tea for old ladies who have been burgled lose 10 points
