Council goes pear-shaped

Worcester City Council has received a lot of flak after trying to protect its citizens from falling pears. A spokeman said “There are some sizeable pears and not everyone is going to be passing thinking a pear might fall on them, especially children.” He then revealed the real reason for their concern: “This is a lot cheaper than having a no-win, no-fee solicitor taking us to court.” The good people of Worcester should consider themselves fortunate that they do not have to deal with some of the dangers that confront us in Thailand:
